Our goal of raising funds for this project isn’t going to happen overnight. In fact, there are many steps that need to be taken to assure that this park is done the right way. The Sun Prairie Skate Park Committee and the City of Sun Prairie Parks, Recreation & Forestry Department have been working together since the early days of this project back in 2009.

Below, we have done our best to list the major milestones that need to be met in order to complete this new addition in the best way. It’s sure to be slow going in the beginning as we set the groundwork, but once we get that done we hope to speed up the process.

• The original Skate Park was competed in October 1997.
• Approx. $14,000 was raised in donations.
• Approx. $14,000 was given as In-Kind donations.
• A model was made in 1997 of the skate park in clay and presented to the city council for approval.
• Phase One of Expansion Project was completed in October 2011.
• Phase Two of Expansion Project is in process and the goal is to have construction complete in 2012.
